Higginson-Henry Wildlife Management Area
Higginson-Henry Wildlife Trail is a lightly trafficked loop trail located near Morganfield, Kentucky that features a creek and rolling hills and is considered moderately difficult. With 23 miles of hiking-only trails, hiking and horseback riding are available on internal public roads and 9 miles of designated trails. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on a leash.
Big Rivers Wildlife Management Area
Big Rivers Wildlife Management Area contains steep uplands, rolling river bottoms and open agriculture fields. A number of local roadways provide access to parking and nice hiking trails. Make sure to take in impressive views from the high bluffs overlooking the bottomlands and the Ohio River. Please note, this area is growing in popularity as a hunting site so hikers should be sure to wear orange during hunting seasons.
