CoronerThe Coroner is responsible for determining the cause and manner of death and identification of those cases which fall under our jurisdiction, administration of Coroners' inquest, and issuance of Certifications of Death.

Beyond determining the cause of death, the Coroner and the Coroner Deputies have full power and authority of peace officers, including the power of arrest and the authority to bear arms and administer oaths.

For the purpose of making investigations, he/she may enter public or private property, seize evidence, interrogate persons, require the production of medical records, documents, or other evidence. The Coroner may impound vehicles involved in vehicular deaths, employ special investigators and photographers, and expend funds for carrying out the provisions of his/her duties.
