The Union County Jail closed in the Fall of 2020 due to the advanced age of the facility and continuously increasing operational costs. Jason Newton, Union County Jailer, is responsible for the transportation of persons arrested in Union County to the Webster County Jail and the transportation of offenders back to Union County for appearances in District and Circuit Courts. The Jailer also assists the Union County Sheriff in serving court documents.
