Animal Control front of building sky

Union County Animal Control is a municipally funded stray and nuisance facility. We work closely with many agencies within Union County, including Law Enforcement, Child Services, Health Department, Senior Services, and local food banks, among others, to provide the necessary services and needs for pets. Residents are encouraged to contact Animal Control directly for needed resources.

Since 2014, the Union County Animal Control has offered income based spay and neuter vouchers to Union County residents. The vouchers assist in the cost of the surgeries and are accepted at all three local veterinary clinics in Union County. Through grants applied for by Union County Animal Control, and cooperation with the veterinarians, almost a thousand animals have been spayed or neutered in the county for a reduced cost. Contact Union County Animal Control for more information on the vouchers as well as the benefits of spaying and neutering.

Partnering with the Green River Health District, Union County Animal Control hosts an annual low-cost rabies and microchipping clinic which is open to the public. Dog and cat owners are encouraged to attend these events, keep their pets current on rabies vaccinations, have their pets microchipped for quick owner claim, and enjoy other services offered during the event, such as baths, nail trims and local pet service and supply vendors.

The Union County Animal Shelter is open to the public during normal operating hours; however, the gate is closed when officers are out on animal calls. It is recommended you call the office before coming to visit.
