A request for proposal (RFP) is a document that an organization, often a government agency, posts to elicit a response -- a formal bid -- from potential vendors for a desired project. The RFP specifies what the customer is looking for and describes each evaluation criterion on which a vendor's proposal will be assessed.

Union County Fiscal Court posts RFPs for the purchase of goods and services, including equipment, materials, construction, and professional services, to name a few.  All RFPs are opened and read aloud in Fiscal Court according to the bid specifications.
